Congratulations on your accomplishments so far. As you have overcome far more challenges than are typical for a law school student, Nashville School of Law is pleased to announce the celebration of your class’s graduation with an in-person ceremony on Saturday, May 29.

Nashville School of Law is thrilled to convene an in-person graduation for the Class of 2021. Thank you to all our students for their efforts to help reduce the impact COVID-19 has had on our NSL community.

The ceremony will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Renaissance Nashville Hotel, 611 Commerce St, Nashville, TN 37203. The ceremony will start at 11 a.m. and last approximately one hour.

Graduates each will be provided four tickets for their guests. Guests will be seated in groups of four people, so tickets are not transferrable, and your guests must be prepared to sit together.  Children of all ages are considered a guest for the purposes of ticketed attendance.

There are no additional tickets available, but NSL will offer a live stream via Zoom and post a recording of the ceremony.

Graduates will sit as a group with appropriate social distancing measures in place. All graduates and guests are required to wear a mask at all times while in the graduation venue.

Tickets have been mailed to the address that is on file in SONIS.

In preparation for graduation, you have the option to have your portrait taken by Uchida Photography. You may schedule a time to have your portrait taken at their studio in west Nashville. Click here to schedule your photo.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • You will be taking your photo in a black graduation robe. This looks best with a white collared shirt.
  • You will have the chance to view your images immediately after they are taken. Please make your choices carefully. If you are unable to select an image you are happy with, let the photographer know at that time and discuss having your photo taken again.
  • When you register for the photo session, you will be asked for the name you want on the composite. Be certain to fill this in accurately – do you want your full name to appear, a shortened version of your given name (Jim instead of James?), do you want Jr., Sr., etc. included?
  • All packages include your photo on the composite. Make sure you order prints for parents, spouses, etc.

The deadline to order regalia has passed. Items will be shipped to the location you specify and you will bring your garb with you to the ceremony.

Registration for the Tennessee Bar Exam is now open. Visit the Bar Examiners’ website for details. The final deadline is May 20.

In order to be considered to take the Tennessee Bar Exam, students must complete a law degree verification form, found on the Board of Law Examiners’ website.

Fill out the top of each page, have it notarized, and return the original to Susan Dulin, who will file it with the Board of Law Examiners. Please allow enough time for the School to process it before returning it to the Board of Law Examiners by the deadline.
